The members are elected each year by their class. Each class has 2 members. The School Council elect a Chair and Secretary each term. They meet fortnightly to discuss matters raised by class councils or items that the teachers have asked them to discuss. Each Council member has a blue cap so that other children can ask talk to them on the playground or ask them questions.

The Council help make things better around the school. They have worked with the head and deputy to make the playground more exciting. They asked the Governors to paint the outside railings blue. They decided that each class should have a different coloured door.

Last summer all the School Council members visited the Lord Mayor at the Council House. They showed him their minutes and photos of the projects they had worked on. He was very impressed. The Chair of the School Council even sat in the Leader of Bristol City Council’s seat in the council chamber!
