Recruitment Opportunities

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and hardworking non-residential Caretaker to join our outstanding school team and play a full role supporting the school. This post is based at our Lockleaze Road site.

The successful applicant will have:

  • One years’ experience of working in a similar role or be able to show they have the necessary skills to meet the demands of the role.
  • Experience of Health & Safety systems and procedures including Fire Safety, COSHH.
  • General maintenance skills, including decorating, carpentry, plumbing or other skills.
  • A committment to working in a small team to ensure the school is ready for pupils to learn every day.

Opportunities for Volunteers

Do you have a little time to spare each week? If you are looking for a rewarding experience, we have plenty of opportunities for any parents/carers or friends of Filton Avenue Primary School who wish to become more involved with the school. We are always on the look-out for volunteers to help with many different activities, for example:

  • Reading with children
  • Sharing stories
  • Sporting activities
  • Assisting on trips and educational visits, Art workshops
  • Music/singing
  • Gardening, Looking after our libraries
  • Any help or skills you are able to offer would be greatly appreciated.

We love to have volunteers helping in school they really add to the life of the school. If you would like to volunteer to help either hearing reading or by offering other skills, please get in touch with the office on 0117 903 0302. You’ll need to commit to a regular time each week please so we can plan for you coming along and you will need to complete a Volunteer Application form (available in the page downloads area).

We require all volunteers to hold an enhanced disclosure and barring service check and where applicable a prohibition check, we can provide this for you. We will also need two references from colleagues or people who know you.
