Learning Support Assistant (BG7)  – Permanent and Maternity Cover (Temporary) Vacancies

The Local Governing Body are looking to appoint enthusiastic and hardworking Level 3 (BG7) Learning Support Assistants to join our school team as soon as possible and play a full role in the life of the school. The post could be based at either of our two sites, Lockleaze Road or Orchard Campus.

The successful applicant will be/have:

  • Qualified to a minimum of NVQ 3 or equivalent (including Maths and English GCSE Grade C or equivalent.)
  • An understanding of, and vision for, the care and education of children aged 4-11.
  • The skills and understanding necessary to engage children in their learning.
  • Able to contribute to the life of the school.
  • The ability to work under direction, as part of a team and able to use their own initiative.

Opportunities for Volunteers

Do you have a little time to spare each week? If you are looking for a rewarding experience, we have plenty of opportunities for any parents/carers or friends of Filton Avenue Primary School who wish to become more involved with the school. We are always on the look-out for volunteers to help with many different activities, for example:

  • Reading with children
  • Sharing stories
  • Sporting activities
  • Assisting on trips and educational visits, Art workshops
  • Music/singing
  • Gardening, Looking after our libraries
  • Any help or skills you are able to offer would be greatly appreciated.

We love to have volunteers helping in school they really add to the life of the school. If you would like to volunteer to help either hearing reading or by offering other skills, please get in touch with the office on 0117 903 0302. You’ll need to commit to a regular time each week please so we can plan for you coming along and you will need to complete a Volunteer Application form (available in the page downloads area).

We require all volunteers to hold an enhanced disclosure and barring service check and where applicable a prohibition check, we can provide this for you. We will also need two references from colleagues or people who know you.
